In 1982, Dr. Mohammad Ramezani was admitted to the School of Pharmacy of Mashhad in pharmacy. He graduated from this school in 1988 and did his military service at this school as a faculty member. In 1992, he won a scholarship to study at Dalhousie University of Canada.
He returned to Iran in October, 1996 and resumed his activities in the Department of Biotechnology. Since 2000, he has been a board member of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology of the country.
Dr. Ramezani became an assistant professor in 1996, associate professor in 2000, and Full Professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in 2005. In 2017, he was selected as the top professor of the university due to his continuous research activities.

About 4 thousand referrals have been recorded for my articles
The distinguished professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that 4 thousand referrals have so far been recorded for his articles among which 3231 referrals have been recorded since 2012. In other words, 75 percent of the referrals have been recorded in the last 5 years, which is indicative of the publication of articles appealing to readers during this period.
Dr. Ramezani announced the publication of 250 ISI articles and stated that his field of study is Nanobiotechnology, which tests nano-structures in biology systems that are built.
The majority of researches conducted are in the field of drug delivery and gene therapy
He added that their main focus is on drug delivery and partly on gene therapy and gene delivery, which is applicable in gene therapy. In these researches, nano-structures are build and drug are included, which results in better and easier delivery of drugs.

This faculty member of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stressed that the majority of tests are performed on anti-cancer drugs transferred to the tumor. Due to its structure, this drug is transferred to the tumor much better and more easily in such a way that it reduces the toxicity of the anti-cancer for the other cells of the body and makes the treatment purposeful.
This top one percent scientist of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that due to its Nano structure, this drug is accumulated and then released in the tumor. Since this drug reduces the side effects, it is of great significance for the tumor.
Dr. Ramezani pointed out that regarding genes, genetic structures can be converted into nanoparticles and their transfer to the inside of cells can be eased. After transferring genes to the inside of cells and the blood, DNA destruction is prevented and treatment is finally accomplished through gene expression and protein synthesis.
The distinguished professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that gene therapy means the construction of a carrying structure that transfers the gene to the cell. In the framework of these technical knowledge researches, nanostructured hydrogel has been produced, which can be applied on diabetic foot ulcers and burn wounds.
Nano structures are trying to release the drug in the tumor tissue
He emphasized that their research is mainly on nano structures and that they are attempting to prove that this built carrier can carry sufficient amount of drug such that the drug is not released in the blood until it reaches the cell and is accumulated within the tumor tissue.
This faculty member of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stressed that the drugs selected for the creation of this structure are conventional chemotherapy drugs like doxorubicin, which is followed by severe complications like cardiac toxicity and hair loss. They are attempting to reduce the drug intake initially using the nano structure and make the drug accumulate in the tumor and produce the required toxicity.

Dr. Ramezani expressed hopes that the young appreciate the equipment and advances of the university, since in their age, not all the equipment was available in one scientific research center.
